Barbara Lockman is indeed an expert in her field, with nearly 30 years of experience in health care communications. Her skill in communications has led her to work for the city of Charlotte as Assistant Public Information Director and to serve on the Board of the Charlotte Public Relations Society. A former member of the Board of Directors of the Carolinas Hospital Public Relations Society, Barbara has also worked on major projects for clients such as Rowan Regional Medical Center, the South Carolina Hospital Association, Gaston Memorial Hospital, Cleveland Memorial Hospital and Presbyterian Hospital. Her innovative spirit and insight into the health care industry have also helped her pioneer a hospital public relations program for Mercy Hospital in Charlotte. Her skill and experience continue to serve her well in her successful career as a freelance writer for the health care industry. Nearly everything she touches sparkles with excellence and precision, as is evidenced by the numerous awards she has won for her writing throughout the Carolinas region. She is the author of two books of history, chronicling both the Thompson Orphanage and Mercy Hospital, and is active in her church and the lives of her two teenagers. Barbara teaches Literature on a part-time basis at Resurrection Christian School in Charlotte, and when time allows, can be found curled up in a corner reading a good mystery. |
